We harvest consciously
with maximum respect for nature.
We cultivate with care our heritage

The small winery of the Franchini’s family extend over a hilly surface of about 9 hectares and at a latitude varying from 280-400 meters above the sea level.

Our vineyards are on average 30/50 years old and are cultivated following the typical “pergola veronese” or “filare speronato” (guyot) methods.

All producing procedures of our wine take place within our small farm, Agricola Franchini. Tradition and pride coming from the cultivation of our own vineyard is priceless, so we make sure that very operation in the fields is done manually, from the pruning to the natural fertilization, with patience and respect for our nature. For this reasons, we place these aspects at the first places.

The 5 local varieties of grapes of the Classical Valpolicella area are all presented in our winery. Every bunch of grapes is skilfully picked at harvest time, handled with care, passion, tradition and finally transformed into our wine.

Our hilly vineyards fields extend for 4 out of 9 hectars of the farm holding, 3 of these are situated in the locality of Forlago, and are characterised by a clay-rich and chalky white dirt, which allows water to drain easily into ground.

Another hectare, situated in the so-called locality “Monte Marognin”, has a high concentration of white rocks and just half meter of dirt beneath the ground; this again allows to distribute rainwater very homogeneously through the terrain.

This particular field has a very strong inclination, for this reason we usually call it “heroic” or “extreme vineyard”. The grapes here are of remarkable quality, very valuable for the production of our Amarone Riserva.
